A couple’s massage is just what the name implies – massages administered by massage therapists (LMTs) to two people at the same time. It’s the perfect romantic date for any couple, but it’s also a wonderful experience for friends, sisters, mother-daughter pairs – any two people who want to relax together in a quiet, rejuvenating environment. What to expect at one of our San Diego locations?
Prior to your couple’s massage session, the LMTs working with each of you will ask about your physical condition, including any problem areas you want addressed by the massage. You will also discuss the different types of massage and which one (or combination) will be best for you. A room will be specially prepared with two massage tables. All of our massage rooms are softly lit, with relaxing music played at a low volume. The room will become fragrant with the aroma of the essential oils of your choice. The two of you will each be given as much privacy as you need to undress. You’ll both take off as much clothing as you are comfortable with and use towels to maintain your privacy while you lie on the massage table. During your massage, the only part of the body that is uncovered is the area the massage therapist is working on. The rest of your body is remains draped (covered). While the two of you are receiving your massages, you’ll be free to talk to one another or enjoy the quiet. It’s up to you. We ask that you always communicate your comfort level to your massage therapist. Let the LMT know if you would prefer a lighter or deeper touch, or more attention to a particular group of muscles. During a couple’s massage, you and your guest are welcome to receive totally different styles of massage. You don’t have to request the same type of treatment.
After your session
After the session is over, we’ll offer you fresh, filtered water and plenty of time to relax. It’s important to hydrate after receiving a massage, and we won’t rush you or jolt you out of the relaxed state induced by your massage.
